Welcome to our friendly cruise community!

There are several things to consider. Are the itineraries the same? Is the price for a similar cabin the same? If you favor one itinerary over the other that might be your determining factor.

We have cruised on both ships and enjoyed them very much. The Mariner is larger and has a few more onboard activity venues, such as the ice skating rink and the rock climbing wall. The atmosphere on the Mariner is a little more festive, for want of a better word.

The Millennium is a little more classic in style and onboard ambiance. Celebrity is a little more service oriented and the quality of the food has improved in the last 6 months from recent onboard reports. Celebrity has always prided themselves on their cuisine and presentation, but slipped a bit when all the cruise lines were cutting back because of the economy. Apparently, that has been rectified.

We like both cruise lines and both of the ships you mentioned, but we lean more toward Celebrity and the Millennium....it is a good fit for us.

I'm guessing the ships do different itineraries. I know the Mariner is currently doing the Mexican Riviera route out of San Pedro. Don't know about the Millie. I'm also guessing you're talking about November 2010 as this November is probably all booked up.

Millenium or mariner of the Seas

Thank you, thank you for all your comments.
Yes it is this November Hannah
Thanks Char, I think we will do Millennium as Mexico isn't our thing right now. The reviews I saw were from Sept 2009 Alaska cruise & a few other very recent trips, that's why we were concerned. If anyone else can comment we would appreciate.
Would like to hear from anyone else going on this cruise. We are tea totlars but enjoy a good game of chickenfoot, sequence or any other thinking card games. My husband is an avid golfer, a police officer & a hunting guide in norther BC around Dease Lake. I work part time. Any advice on private port excursions for this trip we would appreciate seeing as we are new at this game.
Have a great day all
