NC Cruiser
Hi All,
I just found this great messageboard a few days ago. So nice to see so many friendly folks here. As you can see by the title of my thread, I live in eastern North Carolina, just off I-95 mid state. It's cookin' hot here today so being inside and on the Internet is a good place to be.
My first cruise was in 1977 on the Flavia, don't remember the cruise line. It was an Easter cruise and out of 900 pax, 600 were High School students. I was one of the chaperones. That cruise didn't thrill me so much, so I hit a dry spell until 1992 when my mom and I hit the seas on the Seven Seas Song of Flower..... we were hooked then. We loved the Song so much, we cruised on her 8 times until she was sold in 2003. We were on her last cruise. Along the way, Seven Seas merged with Radisson, then the name was changed to Regent Seven Seas.
It has been my fortune to cruise Alaska, Europe from St. Petersburg to Istanbul, Hong Kong to Bangkok, Eastern Canada from Montreal to NYC, the Western Caribbean and last year I took this crazy 71 night cruise from Athens to Ft. Lauderdale which included Eqypt, Jordan, the Middle East, India, The Maldive and Seychelles Islands, Kenya, Zanzibar, South Africa, Namibia, Brazil and some islands in the Eastern Caribbean.
I am pretty much hooked on Regent Seven Seas, but have taken one cruise on SilverSea. Would cruise SilverSea again if the itinerary and cost was desirable. This September, I am heading back to Alaska for trip #3, but this time my fella is going along with some friends from different cruises and other messageboards.
That's pretty much my cruise history. Other than that, I am a retired educator who works part time to support my cruise habit!!
Looking forward to meeting you all and sharing cruise stories.
Beth
