Thank you to everyone reading this post.
to CLF, biaria. Our reputation is just that, a friendly, inviting place to talk about cruising, and more. One day I'll get to Madiera, maybe by cruising. I know Costa makes a port stop there.
Enjoy the site.

Welcome to the board!

Hi Neil,

Thanks for the kind welcome.

Nice to know your daughter and her boyfriend are living in South Africa. In which town are they living in?

I lived there during apartheid and, believe me, I could never agree with their absurd ideas. The funniest thing is, the majority of the white people, maybe 99% I dare say, were quite happy dealing with the native people like they were rubish.

I'm aware that, with the end of apartheid, things have changed a lot, but I'm not that sure, if those who "loved" that way of life, were able to change their behaviour towards the natives.

What do your daughter and her boyfriend say about social relashioships there now?

Just heard from my daughter. She is moving back to New York City. Her boyfriend just got a new job back in the states so they are moving back. Don't know what they are going to do with the house in South Aftica, apparently Heath's family has had it since he was a boy.

Anyway, will keep you informed as I find out more! Can't remember the name of the town in which they live. It is nice, located on the side of one of the mountains outside Johannesburg (I think)

Hi Lee,

Walking on the road, it takes about two hours from Săo Vicente to Seixal, but if you stopped to take photos, it could easily have taken twice that time. There is also a pathway from Săo Vicente to Seixal, but it goes up and down through the mountains, so it ends up beeing a long tiring walk. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your time spent there.

You're right, Lake Tahoe is so beautiful, so much greenery around, I really liked going there.

So... you are a New Tecnologies couple! Interesting how, nowadays, one can easily speak to anybody in any part of the world. And even fall in love, as in your case.

Hello MD11F,

Thanks for your kind welcome and yes, you are all so friendly, I never thought it was going to be like this. I'm really pleased I finally decided to introduced myself.

Yes please, come to Madeira! Lots of Cruise Lines visit our port: Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Costa, Aida, MSC, Princess and more, so you have a lot to choose from.
