    New Engand Cruise question

    Hello all from the UK,
Looking for a 7 day New England or Virginia area Cruise around 13 October for our 30th Wed Anniv.
Would also like to do a 7 day drive around the New England, Boston, Virginia area before or after.
Anyone help with the best cruise and the best areas to visit?
    Many Thanks

I'm sure someone with knowledge about New England cruises (Princess, HAL and some other lines do this itinerary in the late summer and early fall) will advise you. In the meantime, please check out our New England area:

    Hi Izak,

New England is a wonderful area to visit, regardless of time of year. I find that our UK visitors really understand this region and find a sense of familiarity pleasing.

I have a couple of questions for you, in order that I offer you the best advice.
    1. Is there a cruise line preference that you have? If not, I will suggest some nice itineraries.

As per the drive, there are so many wonderful spots. You could spend the whole time driving the coast of Maine and never see the same sight twice.
To be perfectly honest, I would fly into Boston, and begin your visit there, drive up to Portland, Maine and then head up to the Acadia Region and Br Harbor.

Let me know your thoughts and I can provide some more specifics.

You will love a New England/Canada cruise! Having done one, I can tell you it's a wonderful itinerary with some great ports of call.

There are several available from Baltimore, New York, and Boston, depending on where you'd like to start from. We took ours out of Baltimore, which allows for a really nice cruise down the Chesapeake Bay, but this is going to be a 9-night cruise. Whereas there are some shorter ones from New York & Boston - really depends on how long you've got and which ports you'd like to see.

Welcome aboard, I went to New England and Canada on QE2 in 2006. I was lucky enough to be able to sail from Southampton back to Southampton.

Cunard have a number of round trips from Southampton that go to New England you can also fly to New York and pick one up there.

Boston is beautiful as is Bar Harbor and Newport Rhode Island is just breath taking.

If you have ever watched "murder she wrote" well it really is just like that with the painted wooden houses. If you do go I am sure you will love it.

Here is a view of Bar Harbor

Cruises booked: Queen Victoria August 2012 and Queen Elizabeth December 2012.
