Cruise Ship Interest

Hello everyone

My name is Harry Cotterill, I am almost 15 years old and have a very big interest in cruise ship design. I have met alot of very well know people in the cruise industry and shown then my designs. My dream is to design and build the next greatest Cunard Queen after the QM2.

Take a look at my plans for my own P&O Cruises ship.

I decided to design my own ship, after my meeting with Nigel Esdale (managing director of P&O Cruises). In the meeting he told me that P&O Cruise where considering about construction a new ship after the Azura, in 2012. He also said that this my well be a expansion class of the Ventura and Azura.

So I decided to try design my own ship. The new 160,000 ton ship is named Verona. She will be the largest ship ever built for P&O Cruises, if I can persuade Carnival Corporation to construct her.

I'll keep you posted about her.

All the best,

Harry

Looks great, I'll take a balcony. Can you really locate the lifeboats that low on a ship that big?

Hello,

Good question.

The lifeboats are located on F Deck (Deck 8). This is just above the main promenade deck which extends out the side of the vessel by some 3.75 metres. The lifeboat are on the same deck as many of today's modern cruises ships, including the Ventura and Azura.

The only reason I think they look so low is the fact that I have added a whole additional deck of balcony staterooms and a shorter forward deck of balcony staterooms. The reason Verona has so many balcony staterooms is because I know that Mickey Arision (Chairman of Carnival Corporations) love his balconies.

The original plan was to have the lifeboats hang out the side of the Promenade Deck, like on the Oasis of the Seas. But I thought this made the ship to top heavy, so I decided to change it.
