This afternoon I had an e-mail from Stephen Payne, which came as a nice surprise. He wanted to see if I saw a show called “The Last Liners” that was on BBC4 last night. Sadly I didn't know it was on. But afterwards I managed to download it from the BBC iPlayer and it was also repeated on the TV earlier this evening too. So I got to see it in the end. It was very interesting and Stephen was in it quite a bit! In fact the filming that took place was taken the day I was last at his office, if you remember me saying he was having the BBC visit.
I watched that programme tonight and I loved it. Mr Payne came over very well
That's very exciting Char! What made you guys decide to sail on the Freedom? I thought she might be too large a ship for your taste.
Hey Sonja!
I guess if you can't lick 'em, join 'em!
It is sailing out of Port Canaveral which is only 2 hours from where we live. We needed another cruise to tide us over till May when we sail to Alaska again, so we took the path of least resistance and booked the one that doesn't require airfare or hotel. We have an aft cabin and will spend a lot of time walking from point A to point B, but that's OK. The ports are not important, so we will be exploring the ship.
Char that's how we felt when we were on the Mariner. It was the largest ship for us to date, we didn't care about the ports (in fact never got off the ship ... Hal was recovering from surgery and we didn't want to take any chances). We loved exploring the ship, spent time in the hot tubs (with no crowds) and even used the pool. We enjoyed our time on board so much. It was a great way too to spend time with our cruise buddies and have a wonderful vacation.
There are a lot of ports where we don't do anything but get off and walk around a little. In the Caribbean it's a case of been there, done that. And being "older", we just aren't into the strenuous onshore activities anymore.
The ship and being at sea are the reasons that we cruise.......that and meeting new friends.
My mouth is still a little bit swollen from yesturday, so my mum suggested I stayed in bed. I managed to get some building work done on my Lego Oasis!!! I have just got some of the detail work to finish.

Hi Harry, hope you get in to the hospital quickly. Sleeping thru the procedure is nice. How horrible for them to lose a partner and a friend. So tragic.
Hello Mary!
I shall just be glad when it's all over. As you say, it will be nicer to be asleep during the procedure.
The dentist's sad death was in our local paper last night. It sounds as if he was a very nice man. So many people at the surgery will miss him. It's strange, the time before I went to the dentist we passed him and he said hello to us.

I'll bet you will be feeling much better by dinner time......which is probably about now, for you!
You have your work to keep your mind off of things, so the time will pass more quickly. Let us know when the surgery gets scheduled.
Hey Char!
We had dinner a while ago now. I managed to slowly chew my way through it. But didn't eat it all.
I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything about my surgery.
