Big plans for the weekend?

Good Morning Char,

My parents and I are going to be nosey at the new gangway under construction at Harwich
tomorrow. Might not be able to get that close but it worth a try.

But the contact I have at the port said if I e-mail him in May we can go and take a close up, behind the scenes look once it has been finished.

Luck guy! Your contacts can get you up close & personal, where the average Joe can only look from afar!

Harry, what does your Dad do? Is he interested in ships and/or sailing? I think I have only seen a picture of you and your mum together.

I think we are all interest in ships now. We all love visiting them. My Dad is the driver and the photo man. He's to busy clicking away most of the time.

Well then, YOU need to take the camera away from him sometimes and get a piccie of he and your mum on these ships tours.

I shall try but he loves his camera. I'll see if I can get a photo of us at Harwich tomorrow. We will also watch the container ship go in and out at Felixstowe across the river from Harwich. It's the largest container port in the UK. Some huge ships berth there.

You know, when I was growing up (many, many years ago) we would go to the airport and watch the planes land & take off! It was quite different in those days. Cars would line up on the road next to the runway and sit for hours....bring lunch and picnic off the hood of the car. My how times have changed!

Yes times have changed. The world seems to be changing faster than ever now.

Sometimes in the evenings during the summer I go down to a beach not far from here to watch the cruise ships head up the sound.

Then I get sad that I am not on them.
