My yorkie is called Vidar. It was supposed to be Vida (life in spanish) but the dog ended up being a male

Couldn't agree with you more regarding optical and digital zoom. Although, for lower resolution pictures (like the ones posted here) the digital zoom just about is a wash when you shrink the pictures to a reasonable viewing size. The reason why I bought the Canon (and previously Nikon) is because they both have very good lens systems. That is what makes or breaks a camera in my eyes.
