Thanks for that.

It's just that it is just my dream to have my own ships built. So I am going to work my hardest to get there.

Fingers cross anyway.

Yes I must agree with Jen here - I will be 31 in March and when I was 14/15 I had one interest and I think most here could guess what that was .

I personally am VERY impressed with your enthusiasm and wish you the best of luck. I hope for you that your concept, idea, entire plan - something is taken from this and they are willing to build off your design... I am sure you will be paid very well for your efforts!

I am a late in life college student and have taken a course recently titled "Systems analasis and design" it is geared toward computer systems design since I am a Computer Science major, however the concept is the same. Anyway, we had to design this small system for a make believe company as a final - that was quite hard, I cannot even begin to imagine a project of this magnitude...

I hope you have been in contact with upper management at P&O and have been updating them on your ideas/plans - but not too much without some kind of lock on your design... People always seem nice as they steal your ideas..

Either way, keep up the work, no matter what you will walk away from this with an education that you cannot buy in any "institution of higher learning." You have also gained a set of contacts in the industry that most people would only dream of!

Keep it up

I could not do it, I bow to both of you! I have no kids, but do not know what I would do if I had a early teenage girl...At least the information was tougher to find back then, now with the internet.. Okay - I am scaring you, sorry

Harry - I also want to say, that WHEN (notice the word when not if ) your dream becomes a reality I will be one of the first to said on your design!!!

Harry,

Nice drawing, but a ships' drawing is more than just a pretty picture. What scale is this? Have you done any work to figure out the underwater area of the ship? the overall displacement or the draught? I am guessing that a ship that size may have 10-12 stations. LOA close to 333m. Any thoughts on propulsion Traditional or Azipod?

I would interested to see your design(s) for below the waterline, the shape and size of the bulb. I am sure you have read, or even heard from Mr. Paine QM2's bulb was lengthed some 12' to increase efficency of the design, soemthing that wasn't discovered util the actual tank tests were done.

My NA work invloves yacht work, but these are the same things I think about when asked to do a drawing. I was like you at your age, I had great drawings and ideas thats I would sketch out and then show around. Keep up the work.
