One of the things I worry becoming a Naval Architect is flying as I have never flow before. As of course it will involves a lot of travel from shipyard to shipyard. But I am sure I'll be fine.

I think the best plan would be, to go on a sort 4 night cruise on the QM2.
are you worred you wount like it???

I am sure I would love it . But theres only one way to find out.

I would love to cruise on some Royal Caribbean ships as well, especially the Oasis of the Seas.

I hope you are still with us so you can share it with us Harry
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Flying is easy and simple. You just get in a tube that uses basic aerodynamics to lift off the ground and careen through the air.

Harry - great pictures, I sailed on Freedom which is the same ship as the Indy... Loved it. Unlike - Neal was it, or maybe Bliz - I love the larger ships... But to answer the question yes it is a large shopping mall / floating resort.

One thing Harry that I dislike about Royal is the ships are very similar, but you do have a great line in your mind for a first cruise... But Harry, if you are to sail on the Oasis, you not only will need a passport, you will be flying too - to Ft. Lauderdale...

I am booked on Oasis Jan 2010 - Lucky for you I like taking pictures, and have lots of memory cards, I will just go nuts - maybe for sanity reasons, I will just mail you a CD with the JPGs...

Flying is no big deal, I got my G/F to fly for the first time a few years ago - she was a little worried, now she does not care... Two days after the "Miracle on the Hudson" incident, she had no problem jumping on a Airbus A320 leaving out of NY -- different airport, but still near the hudson.. Point is, you will love to fly - maybe not the hassle, but actually flying is not so bad.

Harry - do not wait until school is out. Do a long weekend cruise over a long weekend, or over the summer take a week long cruise or something.. Having sailed and watching people will really help your ideas a lot.

One last thing, and the main reason I replied tonight - I love the idea of Single Class... I am not a single, but I do find it unfair how the singles have to always pay more because of the "double occupancy."

You have a very creative mind, you will do well!
    ~Dan
