Sunday
Sunday morning was a quiet one, we just took a relaxing walk into the town with our friend.
By late afternoon or early evening we left to meet Stephen (Landy Lad). We parked in Carnival Corporation's car park as the security man said we could do so the day before when we went in.We had a few phone calls between my mother and Stephen before we left but we eventually managed to find him and his family and friend. We met on Town Quay and handed the drawing and letter for the captain over then!
We all walked up to the end of Town Quay together and waited for Crown Princess to depart at 19:00 hours. Also berthed in Southampton that day was the new Celebrity Equinox! She looked pretty good, a great ship for what I've seen!We waited and waited but Crown Princess didn't move.
A while later two tugs made their way up, she must have been late due to the strong wind blowing! Pretty blustery!
Finally she began to move and Stephen, his friend and family took a walk around to Mayflower Park to watch her sail.
Crown Princess took her time getting up the river but once she was near by the size of her was incredible!A very nice looking vessel too, much like the Ventura only blue and Princess not P&O Cruises!
The rain came on and off and there was even a double rainbow!
We then got cold and the ship was well pass us so we drove back to our friends place. We pass Stephen on the way back, dad beeped the horn, so if your reading Stephen, that's who it was!
Now for Monday...![]()

Monday
Monday morning we got up quite late, around 10:00. Our friend and my father paid a visit to a motorcycle museum called Sammy Millers. Mum and I stay in the house, then took a walk to the shops and came back to relax in the garden. We had a terrific lunch that our friend made for us all!
We left our friends house at around 15:50 and arrived at Calshot, I'm guessing around 16:30 or so. You can just see Southampton and the ships docked, I think it's a good 10 miles away!
Queen Mary 2 left a little early, we saw her start to move a good 15 – 20 minutes early. She slowly made her way up the river, as she did so it started to rain, again!.Stephen (Lanky Lad) and I sent a few text messages back and forth.
Lucky the rain stopped as Queen Mary 2 go closer.
When she was near the lifeboat station at Calshot my mum and I held up our banner and saw Stephen under lifeboat 17!
We waved to each other. And the great news the captain sounded the whistle and Stephen got us on video with both the banner and whistle!
Made my mum jump as always and it even made me jump too as we weren't expecting it at all! Dad took some photos for us as we held up the banner so you will see those all a little later.
Queen Mary 2 then disappear off around the corner and Queen Victoria very slowly!!!, made her way up the Solent towards us. It was great to see her as it was my first time, she looked wonderful.
Now the strange thing that shocked my mother and I. In my letter to Captain Bates I asked if he could blow the horn as he pass Calshot, I ask for him to blow it 3 times like most ships do and also if he didn't mind a sort fourth blast so I knew he'd done it for me. He did blow the horn as I said earlier but only 3 times.BUT! When Queen Victoria pass she blow her horn the usual 3 times and added a smaller, shorter fourth blast. We think there might be something going on here, we don't know what but seemed a little strange at the time.

Overall, my 3 days away at our friends was a brilliant time for us all! We had such a relaxing time and a good laugh with our friend. It was just fantastic to see all the 7 ships within just 3 days and to wave Stephen off was quite something too!![]()
