    San Diegan here

Those big cruise ships sail in and out of my town all the time. Now I finally get to go on one! Taking my recently widowed Mom in November or December 2008 on the Oosterdam to the Mexican Riviera to celebrate her 70th birthday and my 40th. First time cruising for both of us. Trying to find out if it's worth waiting until mid-Decmember in order to maybe see some whales from the ship. Can this be done? Thanks.

Now you can finally take advantage of being so close to a port! Please feel free to ask any questions.

Welcome aboard . I have seen whales from onboard QE2, but they tend to be a long way off and only a quick flash. I am not sure if your cruise wil lbe good for whale watching, but I am sure someone here will be able to tell you.

Hey podpoet! Welcome to our friendly cruise community!

I see that you have posed your question about the whales in the Mexico forum....hopefully someone on the west coast or someone who has sailed the Mexican Riviera itinerary in November or December will be able to answer this for you.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.
