Hey, how are you?! Were you hit by the thunder/lightening storm we had last night/this morning? Sure doesn't feel like July, eh? My husband worked up your way at Tulalip a looooong time ago (before we were married actually), when it was the old casino. That's a nice outlet mall up there. Good thing I don't live closer or I'd be shopping too much!

Frubal??

Ok, since i'm new here I'm hoping it's ok to ask a question that is probably obvious to everyone else...but what on earth does Frubal mean? I even Googled it and couldn't figure it out. Can someone clue me in?

Thank you!

Here is your explanation of Frubals

Frubals

Have you ever heard the phrase 'instant karma'? Frubals (sometimes known as 'reputation') are a very close equivalent. Let's say, for example, you see a post that you really like. You can validate that person by clicking on the little scale icon that appears in that post. (It's toward the right-hand side, up top)

A pop-up message will come up, asking what you thought of the post and will have a blank space where you can write your thoughts on that post. The other member will have it noted in their "User CP" that someone thought that that post was worth frubals, and if you enclosed a note, that will appear next to the notation.

Click on User CP -- scroll down a bit and you will see how much reputation (how many frubals) you have and who gave them to you, along with their personal message. It will display the last 20 posters who have sent you frubals.

Scroll a tiny bit more and you will see how many you can give (reputation power). The number of frubals you can send each time is based on how much "reputation" you have acquired.

The message you get in your Private Messages box is the canned one that automatically goes out when someone sends frubals. The "real" message is on the User CP page..... and you can see which post earned you the frubals, too.

The more you get, the more you can give, but you have to have made 50 posts on the boards yourself before your frubals have any value to someone else.

I'm sending you some now

Char, thank you for sending me the explanation. I had never heard that term before and just couldn't find the definition anywhere!

Chudley, yes we have been to the new one a few times! We love Vegas, and since my husband was a former Tulalip employee of many years, he wanted to see the new one just to compare. It doesn't even compare!!!!! Anyway, we aren't really big gamblers or anything, but do enjoy a $5 game here and there a couple of times per year.

Can I just say that I love the smilies on this board?

Yes, we will definitely cruise to Alaska, but I am such a warm weather person. Living here, you KNOW how our weather is...and I'm just not great with our overcast, drizzly days...especially today's July storms! I have Alaska on our list for a cruise in 2010 for our 13-year anniversary, and want an aft balcony, so I need to plan and save a little more than some other cruises.

I've figured we would take Princess up to Alaska when we do go, and may sail out of Vancouver as opposed to Seattle. Do you have an opinion on which cruiselines are best for Alaska since you've sailed up there more than once?

Another ! I've enjoyed all three of my visits to Seattle, the last time was four years ago before we boarded the Sapphire Princess for our Alaskan cruise. It was the first time there for my hubby and daughter and they enjoyed it too.
