Unfortunately, the original poster never came back. This thread was started almost 2 years ago.

Does anyone happen to know what happened to Capt. Lars Engebretsen? I heard a rumor he left the cruising industry and ended up going down with his cargo ship off FL.

Googling has only brought up terribly sad images of the Norway dying on the Indian beach . BREAKS MY HEART!
My father was Captain Lars Engebretsen. Thank you for asking about him. He was lost at sea in 1995, when I was 14 years old. I miss him terribly, but love to hear stories about him. I just booked my first cruise as an adult. (NCL, of course.) Will let you know how it goes.
