Hey Everyone! New here, be gentle....

Hi there everyone! We are sailing on our first cruise in 2 weeks on the Norwegian Gem. So excited. Can anyone fill us in on anything you think we might need to know! I have read some pretty explicit reviews about the Pearl, which I heard the Gem is a copy of. We booked this cruise because it was out of NY and didn't want to pay airfare. I hope I made the right choice! If anyone has sailed on the Gem, let me know what you think. (Uh oh....do I really want to know! LOL) And anything we need to know. Thanks

    Sue

    Hi Sue and aboard.

Haven't sailed on NCL, but I have read some good reviews on the Gem. Don't worry about a thing and go and enjoy. Just make sure you come back and tell us all about it. Your first cruise is an exciting thing, have a marvelous time.

Hi Sue, welcome to CLF!! Pack a great attitude and your cruise will be awesome!! If you go looking for problems you will surley find them, but who the heck wants too Being pampered, no cooking, cleaning, making beds, and driving to the port, how can that possibly be bad!! Have a fantastic time!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I'm down on the west coast of Florida, Cape Coral, a 3/4 island next to Ft Myers, but a transplant from Mass!! It will be an awsome game!! They are both great teams!! I will be here tomorrow posting the games scores in off topic!!

We went out on the Norwegian Gem (our 30th cruise) and we enjoyed it. It's a lovely ship with lots to do and many places to eat. We really enjoyed the specialty restaurants, even though you have to pay extra to eat in them. Overall, the food was okay - nothing great, but nothing to complain about.

The cabins are very nice - especially because the showers do not have vinyl curtains. Instead, they have a hard plastic shower door, which makes it very nice.

As I said, we really enjoyed our cruise and would have no problem with recommending it to people.

The best thing about reviews is that you can ignore them. If you don't know the people writing them, you don't know whether they are so picky that they'll hate everything or just had a bad fluke of an experience.

So start off with the attitude that this will be the first of several great cruises and go from there. Now start checking out the various areas of CLF and start asking all of your questions and the vets will try to answer them.

    Welcome aboard.

I am sure you will enjoy the Gem. Come on over to the NCL boards and get all of your questions asked.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.
