    New Kid In Town

Hi all! I just found this forum, asked a question, and received quick and helpful responses. You all know how to make a guy feel welcome...thanks.

My name is Dave, and I'm a cruise-a-holic. Don't offer me a cure...don't want one.

I, my wife Shelly, and our sons Mike and Kyle live in Grove City, Ohio...a suburb just south of Columbus. I am a system manager for a large public safety communications system, and Shelly is an office manager with Meals on Wheels.

Our first cruise was last year in November. We cruised with Disney on the Magic on a 7 day western Caribbean. We just got back from our second cruise, a 9 day with Royal Caribbean on the Explorer of the Seas...eastern Caribbean. We booked our third cruise while onboard...a 7 day on the RCI Vision of the Seas to the Mexican Riviera.

Let's see...I've mentioned that I've been on the Magic and the Explorer, so if you have any questions there I'll do my best to answer.

Ports we've been to would be Castaway Cay (Disney's private island), Cozumel, Costa Maya, San Juan, Domican Republic, Saint Thomas, Labadee (RCI's beach on Haiti).

Excursions and where we did them: Sting Ray Adventure on Castaway Cay, 2-hour sail/snorkel excursion from Paradise Beach in Cozumel, High Pockets Day Sail in Saint Thomas (our favorite excursion to-date, and will be tough to beat), Dragon's Flight zip line on Labadee.

We're planning on a whale watching/snorkel day sail in Cabo San Lucas during our Mexican Riviera cruise. If anybody has done this please let me know your thoughts. Right now we're looking at Cabo Sail.

    Glad to be here!
    Dave

    Hey Dave

So glad we could help with your Vision of the Seas question We have a great community of cruisers and wannabe cruisers....looks like you fit right in.

It would be great if you could go to the Cruise Places board and post your tour info on the appropriate island forums Folks are always looking for first hand input when they are researching shore excursions.

Feel free to ask, answer or comment on any of our boards.

Welcome to CLF Dave Make yourself comfy and enjoy!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

We're be glad to help be your enablers.

I have done the MR cruise twice to the same ports, but on Carnival and Princess. We just winged it during those cruises (shopping, walking around, posing with iguanas). Checked out the exterior of the infamous hotel where Liz and Dick had their tryst. Went to a bar. Went to a beach. That sort of thing. But there are lots of people on CLF who've also been to this itinerary who can help you out with excursions.
