Thread: 1st time cruiser

My wife and I are going on our first cruise in June. I talked her into going because they had a short stop in Key West and we love Key West.
I was in the Navy and took a lot of cruises but had to work them so I hope to lay back and enjoy
We are not ones to get all dressed up and will skip formal night but wondering what is smart casual? We are sailing on a 5 day RCL western carribean cruise.
Are khaki slacks and a nice polo proper for men in the My Fair Lady retaurant as well as dressy pantsuits used at weddings for my wife?
We are excited and looking forward to our cruise in June. We are retired and 64 years old. Hope we fit in onboard.

A: There are three distinct types of evenings onboard: casual, smart casual and formal. Suggested guidelines for these nights are:

Casual: Sport shirts and slacks for men, sundresses or pants for women
Smart Casual: Jackets and ties for men, dresses or pantsuits for women
Formal: Suits and ties or tuxedos for men, cocktail dresses for women
