Hi this is my first visit to the forum, after my first cruise to hell! we saved for a few years for our first dream vacation a cruise to Bermuda. We booked thru vacations to go a cruise on royal caribbean's voyager of the seas.leaving Bayonne NJ july 24TH 2005. Upon arrival at the check in we were handed a sheet of paper stating that because of the chance of a hurricane the ship was now going to St John New Brunswick Canada then on to Halifax Nova Scotia. When I asked a supervisor what my options were I was told there was none If we did'nt board we would lose the $5000 we had paid. So into the FROZEN NORTH we headed equipped with tropical gear. After leaving sunday basking in the sunshine it got colder by the hour royal caribbeans answer was we sell sweatshirts. then they ran out of pina colada mix, coke, and when the duty free opened could sell tobacco products but no lighters, matches aren't allowed on the ship. so let me drown my sorrows at the English pub sorry we have no English Beer. Next A.M the toilets in my Girls room did'nt work for a few hours as did quite a few peoples in other cabins. then outside we had fog for the rest of the cruise. thurs A.m we had no toilets for a while it was very comforting to watch a crew member wind up the snake he had just cleared the blockage with on the rug just forward of the royal suite.very professional. as for our destinations ST John New Brunswick just rubbed salt into the wounds but at least I could spend $250 on sweatshirts I really did'nt need That town is comparable to Newark Nj in beauty. to top things off the couple on the ship who were getting married in Bermuda when talked to Captain SWINE Pettersen were told what a shame as he walked away. then when they had a small soiree to break the depression were made to pay for not only the cocktail party but also the WEDDING CAKE. what a bunch of cheap B@#$&*!s. then we were rewarded by royal caribbean WHOPEE! were giving you $45+ back in port fees what a great company EH! In between I have many more tales of woe. but that's enough for now. who else was on the cruise to HELL! please add your comment. I'll be adding more tales all factual soon. signed ROYAL CARIBBEAN SUCKS!

Hi, Tina! First off, welcome to CLF. We've been on 2 RCCL cruises and LOVED both of them. We've also sailed Holland America and Celebrity and keep talking about how much better we liked RCCL. I know it doesn't help, but I'm sorry you had such a bad time. We learned early on to either book the Caribbean in the spring around April or the very end of Octber or first of November, just to stay away from the hurricanes. Sorry you had such a bad time.
