Hi everyone, new to this board and going on just our 2nd cruise in May and then anothor one this summer. Going on Pride of America in May to cruise the Islands, anyone one else going (May 12 sat-sat, NCL)? We are looking forward to seeing the beauty of the islands and of course going to a luau, any advice or suggetions are welcomed. Hoping to meet some new people (only Fun people though lol) and have lots of fun (I like to party - the wife likes to relax and "people watch" as she calls it). We love meeting interesting people of all kinds, we are California (the OC) based and (oh I hate this saying) in our early 50's
Welcome to CLF!!! Great members here, Congrats on your Hawaiian cruise, make yourself comfy and enjoy!!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart
California based here too! Please enjoy yourself here, we sure do!

Wow a Bigdaddy Thanks to all your replies. I can assure you that I manage to have fun wherever I go and those around me seem to be enjoying themselves, so lets cruise........ lol. Hopefully you all won't get upset with all my questions (things just pop into my head) like "whats a frubals" or do I lose frubals for asking what it is? A real silly (to seasoned cruiser's) question, but I don't know how it works, so here goes.....when I book an excursion say to a luau, do I have to make my own arrangements for transportation? Are there shuttles available to/back for different locales on the Islands at reasonable costs? Help me I a dummy at cruising... lmao. Again Thanks for the nice responses
It depends on if you're booking a ship's excursion or not -- any ship's excursion will include transportation to the site. If you're booking an indy one, you'll have to ask the company if they include transportation to and from.
One thing about Hawaii, is that there are many stores that provide shuttle services to their stores. So if you're want to get into town, check to see if Hilo Hattie's, Walmart, Kmart, etc. are near where you want to go. For example, while we were on Kauai, we took an Anchor Cove shopping center shuttle for free to the shopping center which was next to the beach we wanted to go to in the morning. In the afternoon, we jumped on the Hilo Hattie's shuttle, did some shopping there and then walked down the street to the McD's so our girl can have a happy meal (yes, I know, but she was 8 on that cruise). Then we caught the shuttle back to the dock.
