As for snacks, usually there aren't chips as far as I remember on Carnival. I have packed Power Bars and Zone Bars, especially to take into port (food from the ship usually isn't allowed to be taken off) to give me a pick-me-up when needed. Also packed Cheerios/fruit snacks when my girl was younger. Carnival has soft serve ice cream in the buffet area and lots of great desserts at the meals. And you'll find a little piece of chocolate on your pillow every night.
