Gosh, Char , if I knew of anything great, I wouldn't be asking you to see if we'd be OK to just go to some waterfront bar near the ship!
Puntarenas does present a problem for us because prior to getting/or returning from there ... so many basically at sea days ... probably same for you! Even though ya'll like sea days it's something to consider. There's a day AtSea then the Canal (quick evening port stop) and then another day At Sea. For you probably then Cartegena (where you probably won't get off the ship) and for us Ocho Rios . Finding something to do in Puntarenas seems important!
Does Celebrity offer the "Tropical Train Ride & Mangrove Naure Cruise" or something like it? That doesn't sound too awful and is only 5 hours.
I wouldn't mind the "Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs with Lunch" ... but it's 10 to 11 hours and I'd have one heck of a time talking my DH into taking that one!
What do you think?
LuLu ... Visit SOUTH CAROLINA!

I'll have to check those out to see what is being offered. Ports are not as important now as they used to be. Sometimes we don't even get off the ship!

Char .... There is nothing whatsoever wrong with that!
While we still like to do things in ports , we aren't always ABLE to do the sorts of things we once did ... and we're just beginning to realize this ... so it's taking some adjustment on our part.
You, Yonnie, Garry, Debbie, etc. are a huge help to me in understanding that just being on the cruise ship is enough!

Aging has it's benefits...you can stop & smell the roses more often.
Last cruise to Mexico on the Mariner. DH and I were sitting in the hot tub in the adult pool area all alone with a great view of the rocks and Lover's Beach. A treat of a lifetime!!!
