Thread: Infinity August 1, 2008 alaska

anyone?

I was on this ship in early June of this year. We always cruise Celebrity ... however ... this ship was not anywhere as nice as the Summit. The staff just seemed to be less than average. When you would go to the buffet .. things would not be replaced ..during peak dinner hours .. the ice machines would all be empty at the same time... the waiters would be scarce ... the spa treatments were less than average... ect.
This year we started out cruise out of Seattle .. BIG MISTAKE ! It was no where even close to the beauty of beginning far north in Seward and working your way down. We were just not in any of the ports very long ... at sea a LOT !!
My advice to anyone wanting to go to Alaska on ANY cruise line .... fly into Anchorage .. take the Alaskan railroad ( 5 hr. beautful trip .. great food and BOOZE ) to Seward. You will see the back country through the glass dome train that is just breath taking. All of the ports are great and you are actually there longer in each one. Icy Strait Pointe was FANTASTIC is you are planning on doing any fishing! Book your fishing trip early.
I will continue to cruise on Celebrity .. it is a great cruise line ... jut start as far north as possible to REALLY enjoy all that Alaska has to offer.
