    Yes, that is a problem for everything here. In the summer with afternoon thunderstorms the streets flood. In Cape Coral our homes are built 8 feet above ground. Even the piping used for the sprinkler systems corrode. During Wilma the neighbors lost a few trees and while clearing them, they hit a pipe, and the pipe sent a straight up waterfall in his yard!!
    Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

    All of Florida has a fresh water aquifer. The higher the water table. The fresher this remains. During long periods of drought there is concern about a low water table. If the water table becomes too low, salt-water intrusion along some coastal areas can, and does occur.
