We have a timeshare at Cocoa Beach. I can sit on the beach or the balcony and watch the ships as they leave and disappear over the horizon. We'll probably make one trip across the state to Tampa to visit a wounded Army Ranger who has been recovering for well over a year.

Back to the weather...is it true in Florida, that when they say "partly cloudy", it always includes "a chance of rain"?

YES Usually our summers have daily afternoon thunderstorms. Do not last all day, but we never know when they will hit I love Cocoa Beach
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

The cold fronts come from Canada, the warm gulf air pushes in from the south, and - BOOM - tornado season.
Well, Sue - one week later, and the temperature today is expected to reach 96, with a heat index of more than 100 degrees. The next 7 days will be in the 90's - warmer than the forecast that I've seen for Cocoa Beach. All we need to worry about in Florida is the report of JELLY FISH at Cocoa Beach!

Sorry we didn't get to meet you for dinner tonight at the Cocoa Beach Pier. I hope Dickie is feeling better. Thank goodness we didn't go to the pier last night with the sever thunderstorms and nearby tornado warnings. We could really see it moving in, with that threatening dark front, winds up to 60 MPH or higher, and lots of lightning & thunder. Watching from 8 stories up really gave us quite a view! Hope you and Dickie have a safe trip home!
