Tropical Depression Georgette headed for Arizona!

Not all storms are in the Atlantic!
Georgette is just off the coast of Guaymas, a resort town on the Sea of Cortez on the Mexican west coast. While there is not enough wind to call it a tropical storm, it will be a rainmaker for northwest Mexico and southern Arizona tonight and tomorrow.

Unless you are on a very small cruiseship, this should not affect any itineraries.

    WOW
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Sounds like someting that could cause some nasty flash flooding in Arizona. They aren't set up to handle copious quantities of rainfall very well.

That's what the Weather Channel is predicting. But good weather doesn't sell on their station

Places like Phoenix are prime candidates for particularly dangerous flash flooding, though. So, a tropical or extra tropical system heading their was is pretty decent cause for worry, I think.

The weathercasters here had said there could be a little drizzle this morning (probably from this system), but it looks like we didn't get any at all. And we sure needed more rain.
