At 800 pm pdt...0300 utc...the center of tropical depression
thirteen-e was located near latitude 13.8 north...longitude
101.9 west or about 250 miles...405 km...south-southwest of acapulco
mexico and about 395 miles...630 km...south-southeast of manzanillo
mexico.
The depression is moving toward the west near 13 mph...21 km/hr...
And a gradual turn toward the west-northwest is expected over the
next 48 hours.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph...55 km/hr...with higher
gusts. The depression is expected to become a tropical storm during
the next day or so.
Estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb...29.74 inches.

...tenth tropical storm of the 2009 east pacific season forms south of mexico...
At 200 am pdt...0900 utc...the center of newly-formed tropical storm
jimena was located near latitude 14.1 north...longitude 102.3 west
or about 250 miles...405 km...southwest of acapulco mexico and
about 365 miles...585 km...south-southeast of manzanillo mexico.
Jimena is moving toward the west near 12 mph...19 km/hr. A gradual
turn toward the west-northwest is expected during the next 24 to 48
hours with some decrease in forward speed.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph...65
km/hr...with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast and jimena
could become a hurricane in the next day or two.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles...55 km
from the center.
