AT 800 AM PDT...1500 UTC...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM FELICIA WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 12.7 NORTH...LONGITUDE 124.9 WEST OR ABOUT1210 MILES...1950 KM...WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA.
FELICIA IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 14 MPH...22 KM/HR...AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 45 MPH...75 KM/HR...WITH HIGHERGUSTS. ADDITIONAL STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST AND FELICIA COULD BECOME A HURRICANE DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO.

At 1000 am pdt the center of tropical storm felicia was located near latitude 12.3 north...longitude 125.8 west or about 1275 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of bajacalifornia.
Felicia is moving toward the west near 15 mph and a west-northwest motion is expected over the next 48 hours.
Satellite images indicate that the maximum sustained winds have increased to near 70 mph with higher gusts. Felicia is expected to become a hurricane later today or tonight.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles rom the center.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 990 mb.

felicia rapidly strengthens to a hurricane...
at 200 pm pdt the center of hurricane felicia was located near latitude 12.4 north...longitude 126.6 west or about1315 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of baja california.
felicia is moving toward the west near 14 mph. This general motion with a turn toward the west-northwest is expectedover the next 48 hours.
Satellite images indicate that the maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph...130 km/hr...with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is possible and felicia could become a major hurricane during the next day or so.
Hurricane force winds extend outward up to 25 miles from the center...and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 85 miles.
