Thread: Cyclone Aila hits India & Banglladesh

Tropical Cyckone Aila has made landfall near the border of India and Bangladesh. The reported deaath toll keeps clombing, with the number nearing 200, and expeted to increase. Tens of thousands of homes have been destroyed or damaged so badly they cannot be used for shelter.

Aila was a strong TS or weak Cat 1 at landfall, with sustained winds of 65 - 75 mph and a storm surge of 10 - 13 feet.
