This is indeed a very active season for possible storms! We need to be watchful to see how they are developing.
The one that had been Invest 97L (the red area in the lower picture in the first post) has already now been declared Tropical Depression # 9 . . . less than two hours after that post was made.
You can see in the top post that the red 'area of concern' has been removed and replaced with the red L (for LOW) and the white descriptor NINIE.
THIS MAY NOT LAST LONG!
The NHC has expectations that they will upgrade TD 9 to a Tropical Storm in perhaps just a matter of hours. The next name on the 2008 list is Ike.
