Well that's the answer! I'll tell Phil to trim the sage, so we don't get any more huge storms!

Thanks for thinking of me Maggie. It looks like my buddy Edouard just bypassed you totally. Just shows he has no taste.

    FWIW
Bougainvilla blooms like crazy when it's dry, too.

Seems Edouard is a sahdow of his former self this morning.

They are predicting more rain today, but from a west moving front. UNFAIR!!!! I'm supposed to get a clean-up day, aren't I?

By the way, in the rainfall numbers above, we are closest to Pasadena in the places they listed. I don't know if we got all 5 inches, but it was more than the 2 at the airports.

Well, I'm sure the rain was welcome, anyway!

Yesterday they were interviewing people on the Seawall in Galveston and showing that no one was concerned. Of course they weren't! The news people were interviewing the tourists!!! The people in the hotels were doing the preparations for them!! I am convinced that newscasters are given lobotomies before they go on the air.

I have no idea what the winds are right now - the last reports are from 2 hours ago - but the have died down a bit. There is still rain though. The storm moved inland enough that we are to the southwest of the center, and the rains from the west side of the storm are now turning east and hitting us. Maybe our water bill will be lower next month.

We have a HUGE sage bush in front of our house, and it was full of gorgeous purple flowers yesterday. Most of the flowers are still there, but the branches look like an elephant sat down on them. I had been campaigning to lower that bush, so now I might get my way.

Oops spoke to soon. The wind has picked up a bit, but the sun is trying to peek out. Come on, Sun!!! You can do it!
Typical. In J-school, you get taught how to use the 5-W's, how to talk, etc., but sometimes they skip some common sense things such as picking your interview subjects. At least I don't remember learning this in intro to Broadcast News.
