Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

One of our local TV stations announced on the news last night that they would be interrupting regular programs anytime there were updates from the NHC on Bertha ... as long as there was a threat of it hitting the Carolina coast.

Hopefully, it will blow out to sea!

You know. Lulu, the OFFICIAL word from the NHC at this point is that it is too early to telll with any certainty if it will be a threat to ANY land at all!

A lot depends on how strong it is when it gets to the western end of that high. If Strong, will go around... If not, will go more west.

Could be a FISH (not affect any land at all); could head for Bermuda; could brush or landfall somewhere in the eastern seaboard (with NC the most likely IF that happens), could even peter out completely (not likely); and there's just no telling which of those scenarios - if any - will plaly out. No telling this early.

Bertha has already done some things other storms haven't, so it's a crap shoot right now!

I do wish the media wouldn't try to alarm people, but sensationalism sells.

On the other hand, if it jars some people into preparing, that's a good thing, because all of us in coastal areas should be prepared all season long, every season. But some people just don't get that.

CM .... Like you're saying, it's a very long season, every season.

No Panic for sure! Still, so many of us in our area have ourselves and/or have friends/family with beach houses that we are always quite interested. Our local TV is providing info that we WANT to know.
