I think people who are complaining about the predictions are ridiculous. The meteorologists are trying to help people to prepare. If they sat on this info because they weren't sure if it was correct, these same people would be complaining about that. Better safe than sorry. Better prepared for the worst that to be caught off-guard by the worst.

Science involves many many many samples of data and many many years of analysis. Meteorology is a fairly new science, and they are making strides by leaps and bounds. Everyone needs to either study it themselves or just shut up.
