Question U.S. dollars in British Columbia

After five American ports (counting Los Angeles here), there is an all-day stop in Victoria on the Wine Country Coastal cruise. Do I need to convert some money to Canadian dollars just to buy meals and souveneirs in port? (The cruise ends in Vancouver.)

No you don't. But be prepared to receive any change in Canadian currency. So have plenty of small bills on hand to pay for whatever you need.

Nancy is correct. I have been up there many times and there is no need have Canadian currency.

Over the years the US$ has usually been woth more but currently $10.00 US = $9.38 CDN.
You may not get the best exchange rate from local merchants so it all depends on how much you plan on spending.

Been there, done that. I remember getting a $2 bill at Wendy's in Niagara Falls. On that trip my family learned the hard way to always make sure the head sidei s George Washington as a jukebox rejected what we thought was 50 cents because one quarter was Canadian.

Surprisingly, on our second (and last) trip there, we got change in American dollars.
