How do you save money while on your cruise?

The biggest way I save money ON the cruise is being organized. Having an over-the-door shoe holder to hold our toiletries has saved us bunches of money, because we didn't have to buy things at ship or port prices that we already had with us. In the past, we always lost things, and found them at the end of the vacation while packing.

If you plan ahead, and book excursions off the ship, that will save money as well. Knowing what the best things to buy in port also helps in the souvenir budget. Keep in mind that the person you cruise with may want to take things easy and NOT plan ahead! In that case, speaking from experience, you divide up the ports and have some with plans and some without.

I try to book my next cruise while ON a cruise.

That way, I already have some money in my shipboard account when I board.

Brian, NO one can take Bingo away from you - at least on the this forum.

So, how do you save money so you can play more bingo?

Luckily for me, I'm a pretty cheap date. I don't drink more than two drinks, I don't smoke, and I don't buy anything that will collect dust on a shelf.

Like Canary, I tend to book my next cruise while I'm still on one. That used to be a bigger help than it is today but it all helps.

Brian, you sound like me - but my sweet husband likes a few drinks more. I tend to use the ship's stores only for emergencies, but on one cruise they were selling t-shirts for 10 dollars each. When I found one that fit my husband, I knew I had to get it. But that shirt has lasted longer than most of his shirts.

My bill is usually pretty low. But I think maybe this year I may go on a shopping spree. I'm due!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
