Thread: Day before cruise Hotels

I know some of you stay over before cruising the next day. Any suggestions for those considering doing this next year?

Where are you going?? We have started a hotel thread under the general cruise section.........you may have to go back a page or two to find it.......we are trying to consolidate all hotels under one thread........many might have some great ideas for you.

Thanks for the thread info. Checked it out and am exploring options now. But I am a mite confused, never flew to Ft Lauderdale before, so how far is the port from the airport? A cab ride would be not too expensive?

No, and a cab is quicker if you are flying in the same day!! Cruiseline transfers take forever. You have to walk across the airport with all your luggage and sit in a bus till ALL the passengers going to the ship arrive!! Frustrating as hell. Some hotels in Lauderdale have free shuttles to the pier. We drive over the day before, and I love La Quinta/airport. I get October for $80 per room, not pp, You fly in, and right at the baggage area there are a line of phones, with the hotel names on each. You call and the hotel van comes to pick you up, free. The next morning, a shuttle takes you to the pier, free. You just have to grab a cab at the pier on your return from the cruise to take you to the airport!! Stress free!!

Thanks for the great info. I think I fruballed you(my first one). We are on the west coast, so it takes all darned day to get there. Will fly in the day before and stay overnite. La Quinta on line had about 6 different locations, do you know which one it might be?
I really love to read all the goodies you guys put on this site, quite informative and lots of funny stuff. Too bad I don't understand all the inside stuff tho.

We got the Renassaince in Ft. Lauderdale..........a 5 star hotel for $82 on priceline.......I think I reviewed that in the hotel thread..........if not let me know and I'll give you a review.
