Jim will tell you as soon as he gets back!!! The Infinity sailed out this morning!!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart
I have sailed out of Honolulu but is was a long time ago. (1992)
It was a great cruise ending in Vancouver BC

Just returned and enjoyed Honolulu very much...........if you go a few days early.....take money Cost aside........the Arizona Memorial alone is worth the trip to Honolulu.......very moving........I'll try and answer any questions anyone might have........
I visited Hawaii in 2000. It is so beautiful. I would love to go back. isujim is right the Arizona Memorial is worth going to. Also the climb up Diamond Head is absolutely gorgeous. I have pictures but thought they maybe dated so I won't post them.
I did a search and found out a little information about the Arizona Memorial. The best time of day to visit the Memorial is early in the morning before the tour buses arrive. When I visited I took the bus and arrived before they opened. It wasn't very crowded, but it did get very busy.
The Arizona Memorial is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Interpretive programs, including a 23-minute documentary film about the attack and the boat trip to the USS Arizona Memorial, begin at 8:00 a.m. (7:45 a.m. in the summer). The last program each day begins at 3:00 p.m. The Memorial is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day. Entrance to the park is free.
Allow 75 minutes for the tour. This does not include time waiting for your tour to begin.
Following the events of September 11, 2001, new security regulations have been implemented. No purses, handbags, backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, or other items that offer concealment are allowed in the visitor center or on the Memorial tour. Strollers with pockets and compartments must be empty before being allowed in the visitor center. Personal cameras are allowed. Baggage storage is not available and there are no alternatives in the local area for bag storage.
Visitors are strongly encouraged either to leave prohibited items at their lodging or lock them in their car trunk before arriving at the parking lot. Theft of items from rental vehicles is common in Hawaii.
Getting There
By bus:
Transportation to the Memorial is varied. If you're without a rental car, The Bus is an excellent alternative. These Honolulu busses board at numerous Waikiki locations during all regular hours of service. The #20 bus is the most direct. For this reason a lot of #20 busses are full. Other busses do travel to, and beyond, the Visitor Center and Memorial. Ask the driver of a #20 bus for the numbers of other busses that go to the Visitor Center and Memorial. The only difference is that with other busses available from Waikiki, you must transfer at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, in order to continue on to the Memorial. For more information about The Bus (in Honolulu) call (808) 848-5555.
Don't overlook the small commercial shuttle busses and vans that travel exclusively to the Memorial. They are reasonably priced and are non-stop, therefore faster.

Another thing we found patriciaa is if you go after lunch.........there is virtually NO LINE.....at least when we went. We went at 8am and the line was out of the parking lot..........go in the early afternoon and there was no line.........
I've done the 7 day NCL Star cruise of Hawaii with the side trip to Fanning Island (to accomodate the Jones law) twice.
My wife and I liked it so much the first time that when a good deal came up we did it again.
Other than cruising I have been there 2 other times. So any info I got is yours.
I would like to see any pictures you have from the top of Diamondhead..........this is one thing we didn't do and am already kicking myself for not doing it. If you have time, go ahead and post the pictures, I would love to see them\
