Didn't visit any bars in Waikiki but you will see hula everywhere---they welcome the ship with hula at the dock and they have hula inside the building you have to go thru to get to the street.

IF your ship has the folkloric dancers from the hula school DO NOT MISS IT! On our cruises with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean they came on and did 1 show while we were in Honolulu and it is the true Hawaii!

They performed on the Island Princess. We missed it while doing some shopping in town, but the kids were taken to the performance. I heard many raves.

Kauai is my favorite island. I've done Sunset Dinner cruises there and helicopter tours also.
In Oahu, which is where Honolulu is, I've been to the Arizona Memorial twice, The PunchBowl Cemetery, did the Circle The Island tour 3 times, climbed the top of Diamondhead twice(magnificant views 360 degrees), been to the Polynesian Cultural Center, went to Germaines and Paradise Point Luaus, the Pali Lookout 3 times, and someone mentioned the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort and Spa, we stayed there last year Thanksgiving(2005). This is a very, very nice hotel, you'd want to live there. They now have Penguins, in addition to the Swans, fishes and other animals there. The Gardens and Pools are so beautiful
My hubby had an aunt (she passed away last year in her 90s) who lived in Minnesota and would "winter" at the Hilton. Not in the rainbow tower, but in another building along with other senior citizens. They would often go out together for dinner, and we joined them when we were there on our honeymoon (we had a gorgeous room in the rainbow tower with a fantastic view; obviously we were upgraded because we were newlyweds).
