    HAL cancels Mazatlan

The HAL website now shows their Mexican Riviera cruises not stopping in Mazatlan. There is now an overnight in Puerto Vallarta.

They do not give a reason for the change and, so far, they have now informed me of the change. We are sailing on the Oosterdam January 7th.

    HAL has also dropped Acapulco.

HAL claims it is for the safety of the passengers as those ports have too much crime.

The reason is that there have been shootings in Mazatlan. NCL has also dropped it as a port. Waht is really tragic is that so many people are dependent on the tourist trade and a small group of thugs are destroying it for everybody....

Celebrity dropped Acapulco, too...for the same reason. Too much violence has made it unsafe for tourists.

Actually, NCL has dropped the west coast of Mexico. They no longer have any ships sailing the Mexican Riviera.
That story is from last February. HAL had resumed Mazatlan as a stop and just changed it this week.
