Casino

I heard that the Casino has a new system where you have to load your card with money to play the slot machines , Its go longer accept coins or dollar bills. Is there any truth to it!!!

We gave up the slots when they moved to the new system.

From what I understand you can still put money into the slots.

BUT -- you just can't get it back -- you have to go to the cashier and request it back in cash.

I don't play slots but my husband does. He gave this up when they went to the cards.

I wonder how many people no longer play the slots because of this.....

The only way you can get money out of your machine is with your card. You HAVE to have a pin number set up. Then you have to transfer your winnings to your on board account, take the card to the casino cashier, punch in your pin number, and the cashier will pay you. Many elderly cruisers are confused by this new process, and many were very angry on my recent cruise. They wanted their money without entering a pin number. They wanted the machine to pay them!

By using the electronic measures they can monitor your play and can comp you with drinks and what-not if you start losing to keep you playing. A common tactic in Vegas.

That is true, Neal. After our 3rd night they gave my wife and I casino tee shirts and hats, and bought us two rounds of drinks each night for the remainder of the cruise. That's a good deal. Those t-shirts only cost us 3 grand!

For those who were losing on the Zuiderdam night after night -- no free drinks or anything to get you to come back. I deliberately walked through the Casino a few times -- many people were disgusted and the place was quite empty most of the time. Very few playing slots.
