    Pinnacle - add more items

I realize that the Pinnacle is a Northwest cuisine restaurant.

But is there one item you would like to see added to their menu?

Not particularly. I love great steaks and great salmon. There's enough variety in the offerings for me to keep it interesting. Although, it might be nice to have one nice non-chocolate decadent dessert.(I live for the chocolate volcano cake, but something different yet still rich and sinful would be a nice offering.) We ate recently at Marie Callendar's and had what was basically apple pie ala mode in a goblet.

Ice cream at the bottom, a slice of warm apple pie, whipped cream, then a drizzle of caramel sauce!

I'm thinking that a HAL version could be a real crowd pleaser. Maybe their caramel sauce could be a rich rum-caramel sauce.

I would love to see them offer BIG lobster tails.

They did last year as a special when we were on the Oosterdam.

    They were great.

There needs to be more vegetable selection. Asparagus that has been grilled to mush and creamed spinach DO NOT CUT IT, IMO. We even asked if they could do something else... Nope, that's it. The two times I ate in the Pinnacle, I was not impressed... and let the Pinnacle manager know... He just shrugged his shoulders and said "well, that's the way Seattle wants us to do things"...

In the main dining room we asked our waiter if there were other choices and for the remainder of the cruise, he brought out a plate of steamed broccoli and steamed asparagus for our table of 8.

From everything I have seen and heard, Holland Am has a real problem with veggies and salads. A nice selection of both should be routine.

    Grumpy

DH hates asparagus!! And it is usually on every HAL dish!!

I am not a vegie eater!!

But DH does agree that more different vegetables should be offered.

I do agree with about salads.

There used to be more choices for salads in previous years.

    They have gone down hill!!

    BUT

Getting back to the Pinnacle - I think a couple of more desserts would be nice.

One we are able to get at home is French Vanilla Ice Cream with Chambord Liquor topped with lots of ripe raspberries and a little puff of cream. That would be better than just plain ice cream!!

It is routine in the Lido. Many, many different types. Maybe some rotation through the Pinnacle would be nice, but remember that the veggies/salads need to be something out of the ordinary simply because it's the Pinnacle.
