I have another question for you Yonnie!
When you preorder the liquor, do you have your TA do it, or do you do it yourself?

We order it ourselves -- charge it our credit card.

We have Ship Services send us an e-mail confirming our order. We pre-order far enough in advance that the bill comes in before we leave.

Thus I take a copy of the e-mail confirmation and a copy of the credit card bill indicating that it has been paid for.

I called HAL Ship's Services on Friday to make our arrangements. I am still waiting for an email confirmation, but I see they already have charged my credit card.

Since they don't carry my husband's favorite bourbon, the agent gave me the name and email of the woman who works special requests for the Rotterdam. I wrote to her this morning, and she responded back immediately and send me the special request form.

If anyone needs a copy of this form, please let me know. Or you can email
HAL_Ship_Services@HollandAmerica.com to get a copy and find out who you need to work with for your ship.

Special requests carry an extra fee, and once you pay, it is non-refundable. Once I hear back from them with more details, I will post them on this thread.

Those prices for in cabins bottles seem very reasonable.

They are reasonable!!

We always order a couple of bottles so that we can have a drink out on the verandah.

I'm just hoping I can get a semi-reasonable price on the bourbon. It's a special request, so there is an extra fee, to begin with. On top of that, the brand is not one that a lot of bars carry.

We had an incident a couple of cruises ago.

I like Stohli's -- we ordered 2 bottles for the cabin for 21 days.

When we got to the cabin -- they gave us CHEAP Smirroff's!! Which is cheaper than what we paid.

We had a royal battle in the Neptune Lounge with the concierge and asked to have the Food an Beverage Manager see us.

Stohli's is available at every bar!! But they claimed that we could not get it for our cabin at a last minute request.

ARE you kidding me??!! We had the e-mail confiramtion that we had bought these bottles TWO MONTHS before the cruise.

After a 2 day battle -- we won -- with a surprising nice ending -- 2 bottles of Grey Goose were delivered to our cabin.

Guess they checked to see that when we go to dinner we often order that -- and sometimes we have it in the lounges.

Glad it had a happy ending, Yonnie.

It is always a good idea to take any paperwork pertaining to the cruise with you. We always do and only needed to show it on one cruise when they did not have our shareholder OBC in our record. Got it fixed and we were happy campers again.

DH laughs at me, but those extra pieces of paper I travel with have come in handy. And now I have Yonnie's story to back me up! YES!

It's been a week since I made the request. I am starting to get antsy!

We have gotten used to HAL's foul ups.

U make extra copies of shipboard credits and tours that we have ordered on line.
