I was on the Oosterdam, from San Diego to Rome, 32 wonderful days this Spring. I want so badly to go again on the same ship and have lots of sea days, which I preferred!

One thing I loved was that every morning there was a different type of pancake. I loved the strawberry ones!

I also enjoyed most of the cold soups. Didn't like the blueberry yogurt soup - it tasted like someone opened a container of Dannon and watered it down.

I find myself ordering pasta a lot in the dining room. I typically love whatever pasta they are dishing up.

I did not care for the Dijon Chicken breast entree the were serving for a while. I seem to recall it being on the last night of the cruise and I ordered it twice becuase it sounds like something I would like, but I really hated it.

DH loves all the cold soups, and I love all the hot soups. We have never sailed on a HAL ship and didn't have great food. We weren't so lucky on another line, but that is another story

    Banana pancakes at breafast.....

The shrimp and pasta from our first cruise (no longer serving it dang it)

    Definitely the chilled soups

And beyond a shadow of a doubt, my favorite, the bread pudding - especially with the vanilla sauce.

The shrimp and pasta have been offered on all our cruise.

The bread pudding -- it has gone downhill!! The sauce is way too thin!! Not a good vanilla sauce -- I always check the sauce before I get the pudding.

Now the best bread pudding -- on the Amsterdam -- they do a chocolate bread pudding with a really thick dark chocolate sauce -- everyday!!

The Dijon mustard chicken has gone downhill the last couple of years -- we no longer order it.

Not all the ships are doing the different pancakes -- which is something I really look forward to.

It is somewhat frustrating when ships in the same line have such different quality. We found the ice cream on the Veendam to be excellent but on the Noordam to be only fair. Of course, there was 7 years between our cruises.....

HAL has switched brands of ice cream they use several times over the last couple of years.

I know, I wish they would stop changing and stick with one of the good ones!

I just hope they don't start charging us for the ice cream.
