No apology required, Lulu!! I am just relieved, since Catalina had terrible fires just 2 years ago this time. Hopefully the island has recovered enough, and Yonnie and Joe had a good visit.

We loved our Myster Cruise as Captain Harris called it once we all learned that we would miss our 4 Mexican stops.

Loved Catalina Island -- walked all over -- even the back streets. Ate at the Busy Bee on the waterfront -- enjoyed the food and view.

Don't know if I would have loved or hated that cruise since the ports were so indefinite until right before arrival. Do like the final destinations, though since I am not really a fan of Mexico!

Since we ended up with more sea days than originally planned, there were lots of sctivities to keep people busy.

Captain Harris didn't have to try find us those 2 extra ports -- we could have ended up with 7 sea days.

He really worked hard to keep the passengers happy.

I would have felt the same. I was telling hubby about the many people complaining on the ds about missing the Mexican ports and he was agreeing with me that going up the coast of California, or even going to San Diego, would have been more enjoyable to us.

I totally misread Patty's comments in Sue's News! Silly LuLu ! Patty was talking about additional cruise ships at Catalina Island ... and a wild fire in Santa Barbara! My mistake!

You need to read my news items carefully, Lulu.

The fire is still active in Santa Barbara, but near containment as long as the winds don't start spreading it again. I know we're getting some gusty winds right now...so maybe they've moved to our area.

When we left San Diego, we were actually able to see the smoke from the Santa Barbara fires.
