Thread: Prinsendam to have major drydock???

I just read this report about the Prinsendam and I was wondering if anyone could confirm?
"The Prinsendam - For a ship built in 1988 she is in fantastic shape. This vessel is well built and took 4 years to complete compared with less then 12 months for the new ships. Everywhere you look you can see quality and a lot of the 450 crew is assigned to maintaining this ship. She is also scheduled in November for a major drydock to replace all bathrooms, gymnasium and some other areas."

It would excellent news for KK amd MCCruiser, as they will have all new bathrooms etc on their upcoming cruises!!

I have reported this before -- we were scheduled to be on the 2007 Amazon cruise but within a day of booking the cruise we were informed that the cruise was cancelled and HAL asked us if we wanted to do it in 2008. Of course we said - YES!!! But then came the problem of getting a fall cruise for this year since that one was cancelled. All this happened in Aug of 2006!! We were able to book one of only 2 suites that were left for the Pan American/Ecuador cruise.

I bet you find that the retrofit of the bathrooms, etc. on the Prinsendam was worth the wait!!

It is my favorite ship, it is truly a classic ship, it really is the "Elegant Explorer"!!

We haven't been on the Prinsendam yet. But we were on one of her sister ships in 1992 - Norwegian Westward which was formerly the Royal Viking Star. At that time there were only 4 Penthouse suites - really huge and 5 suites. I studied the dining room and the layout looks just about the same.
