    How can I lose 20 lbs for my cruise?

    How can I lose 20 lbs before I go on my cruise?.. I've tried dieting but, I have trouble sticking to them and sometimes I don't see enough results and lose interest...

    Here is a 3 day diet that works.. Certainly, you can stick it out for 3 days, if you do, you will see a weight loss...


    3 DAY DIET. . . .

    THE FOLLOWING DIET (SUGGESTED BY THE MIAMI HEART INSTITUTE) MUST BE
    FOLLOWED EXACTLY. LOSE 4-8 LBS. IN 3 DAYS.

    DAY 1

    BREAKFAST--- BLACK COFFEE OR TEA, 1/2 GRAPEFRUIT, 1 SLICE
    TOAST, 2 TBSP. PEANUT BUTTER.

    LUNCH--- 1/2 CUP TUNA, 1 SLICE TOAST, COFFEE OR TEA

    DINNER--- 3 SLICES ANY TYPE OF MEAT (ABOUT 3 OUNCES), 1 CUP
    STRING BEANS, 1 CUT BEETS, 1 SMALL APPLE, 1 CUP
    VANILLA ICE CREAM.


    DAY 2

    BREAKFAST--- 1 EGG, 1 BANANA, 1 SLICE TOAST, BLACK COFFEE OR
    TEA.

    LUNCH--- 1 CUP COTTAGE CHEESE, 5 SALTINE CRACKERS.

    DINNER--- 2 BEEF HOT DOGS, 1 CUP BROCCOLI, 1/2 CUP CARROTS,
    1/2 BANANA, 1/2 CUP VANILLA ICE CREAM.


    DAY 3

    BREAKFAST--- 5 SALTINE CRACKERS, 1 SLICE CHEDDAR CHEESE,
    1 SMALL APPLE, BLACK COFFEE OR TEA.

    LUNCH--- 1 HARD-BOILED EGG, 1 SLICE TOAST.

    DINNER--- 1 CUP TUNA, 1 CUP BEETS, 1 CUP CAULIFLOWER, 1/2
    CANTALOUPE, 1/2 CUP VANILLA ICE CREAM.


    THE DIET WORKS ON CHEMICAL BREAKDOWN AND IS PROVEN. DO NOT VARY OR
    SUBSTITUTE ANY OF THE FOODS. SALT OR PEPPER MAY BE USED, BUT NO OTHER SEASONINGS. WHERE NO QUANTITY IS GIVEN, THERE IS NO RESTRICTION OTHER
    THAN COMMON SENSE. THIS DIET IS TO BE USED FOR 3 DAYS AT A TIME. YOU MAY DRINK AS MUCH WATER AS YOU WANT.

    IN 3 DAYS YOU WILL LOSE 4-8 LBS. AFTER 3 DAYS OF DIETING YOU CAN EAT NORMAL FOOD, BUT DON'T OVERDO IT. AFTER 4 DAYS OF NORMAL EATING, START BACK ON THE 3 DAY DIET. YOU CAN LOSE UP TO 15-25 LBS. IN A MONTH IF YOU STICK TO IT.

    THIS IS A SAFE DIET. REMEMBER....DO NOT SNACK BETWEEN MEALS AND DO NOT SUBSTITUTE OR ALTER THE DIET IN ANY WAY.

    My DH had some success with the South Beach Diet.

    You can get the best-selling South Beach Diet book at most any bookstore.

    This diet was written by a Miami area Cardiologist for his heart patients who are also diabetic, so it's quite a healthy regimen for just about anyone. Lots of protien.

    You'll eat a LOT on this diet, but you also run to the grocery store a lot for fresh things, then run home to chop them.... this may be part of the reason it works - all that running and chopping!

    The recipes are really delicious!

    The neat thing is, it's perfect for a cruiser, as it's designed for those who 'fall off the wagon' for a week or so, then need to climb back on.

    Best diet I've found is the 6-week body makeover...........



    BTW Lose the cowsuit Bombero.........that's at least 20 lbs

    Consumer Reports was on the Today show this morning.......they ranked Weight Watchers as number one......

    I saw that Jim, but there are so many diets out there that haven't been scientifically reviewed. WW is good they said as it's nutritious but slow. Michael Thurmans 6 week body makeover.......really works well, they pretty much guarantee 30lbs in 6 weeks or your money back, plus I found it to be fairly nutritious...........my type wasn't allowed dairy products which is why I said fairly. I was on it a week and lost 8 lbs and had to get off of it due to those "other" probs of mine

    It was an interesting show.........they had no data on South Beach since they said there were no scientific tests out on it...........

    according to this new report Weight Watchers has the best track record.

    It didnt work for me personally ( well to be fair I may not have given it my ALL lol)

    but My mom is doing quite well.

    Hmmm, interesting ideas here...I would like to try the 3 day one (I have a hard time sticking to diets, lol...)


    Has anyone actually used the Michael Thurmonds one...I hate to spend $95 on it! And then not be able to stick to it

    Dolores, I've got it and it was the easiest diet I've ever been on. The only problem I had was remembering to eat every 3 hours. They used to have the test to figure out your body type on their website but no longer have it as I think there were people sharing their kits. I thought it was worth the money. Some people have bought them on Ebay for less but they don't come with the money back guarantee if you do that. I tried Atkins before and I didn't have the weight loss and I worried about eating all that fat. This diet is the one that worked for me to lose alot quick. If you want to try something on your own, rather than spend the money, eat 5 or six little meals (healthy) a day and drink alot of water. Try it for a week and see what happens........no sugar or dairy. You should lose some.
