Yes we suffer from this "seasickness". After being home from our cruise for a week or so were usually sick at not being able to be at sea.Not sure if this is a sickness or a true addiction to cruising.![]()

Even better is to sit on the sailboat with a glass of wine!![]()

I have also had the above sensations after both cruises that I took. The first time it lasted one and 1/2 years, the second time has lasted since August of 2001. I can no longer work as a bookeeper. The calcium deposits in the ear canal is an entirely different condition. My doctor says MDDS is a condition where the brain doesn't adjust to land after a motion experience. I take an anti-seizure medication that helps the condition somewhat. Check out this website for more information:

Yes, I have this situation too.
Everytime when I return to the land after my cruises,
I feel the floor is keeping move for some days......
Sometime, it may happen even I abroad the Star Ferry for 5 minutes in HK~~~
The first time I encountered this was after an 18 day cruise back in 1984. I felt the floor was moving for about 2 weeks. It was not nearly as serious as some of the cases mentioned. Since then I do get the feeling after some cruises but not always. When it happens, I am fine walking but when I stop I feel like I am on a ship with everything moving.

I too, have a bad case of sea legs when we disembark from a cruise. Even if it is just exiting the ship for a port, I usually will fall over in port, because my balance hasn't returned yet.

I have had this condition for 7 years after a cruise. It is a failure of your brain to re-adjust to land after a motion experience. Go to Yahoo groups MDDS Support for help. It is not vertigo where the crystals in your inner ear are out of place. I take valuim to help control the symtoms.

I am so relieved to find this topic on the board. Mine is not as severe as some of the people who have posted here. Mine lasts for a few weeks. My GP gave me some meds and exercises last time that seemed to help.
Is there anything I can do on the cruise that will help? Something to lessen the after-effects of the sea-legs. Has anyone tried benzodiazeprines or amitriptylines? I saw both mentioned on one of the MdDS support sites.
Sometimes, when I have a problem, it is nice to hear someone say "me, too!".
