hanna....you talking about Imitrex, aren't you? Dh does the same thing with his Imitrex and we've never had a problem...but the blister pack is so thin that packing flat inside a book or something works just as well...

Some of DH's meds we keep in the original containers, as they are considered narcotics in legal form and we don't want any problems if we're flying overseas.

    hanna...you're welcome!!

We just found that cutting it up and putting it in a pill box, that the pill box is actually more bulky than leaving it in the original packing...

My husband takes several heart meds. I usually pack three weeks worth in the one week daily dose containers and we carry a list of them all with us. He actually keeps a list in his wallet as well in case he ever needed medical attention while we are away.

    Cool Pill BOxes

Ruth has used the 7day, 4 X per day pill boxes on the last couple cruises and it works real well. She generally sets up and extra week pill box just in case.

We pack each box in a zip lock bag and put each one in a different suitcase or put them in the carryon suitcase. All the narcotics are carried in the carryon bag.

    Works well for us...

We also have the phone number of the pharmacy we deal with in case we need extra of something. The pharmacist can call them to get a faaxed copy of the original prescription and fill it if we have to.

Debbie, what is amazing is that some drugs that we can not get in the states are freely available OTC in Canada. The same applies in reverse with several US drugs not available in Canada.

    Incredible.

Isn't it amazing how governments can not get their acts together - making it more difficult for everyone???

We put all of ours in daily packs, also. I also bring along about 4 extra days worth in those tiny ziplock bags. I have heard of too many times when people's cruises are extended or where they get stranded by airlines. We get our meds 3 months at a time. The bottles are HUGE!

I also have injectable meds that I bring (they are in sealed packs.)

I have never been asked about any of these.
