"The Doc" from The Love Boat

Hey Friends, I just interviewed Bernie Kopell, who played "The Doc" on The Love Boat television series. The show was brought to you by Access America, a travel insurance company. We talked with Bernie about his role on The Love Boat and how he was selected to be "The Doc", and we also shed some light on "healthy cruising". At 77 years old, Bernie has an eight-year old son and a 13 year old son which keeps him active and busy. Let me know what you think!

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

The best refeernce to him was on the Get Smart sequel where Max Smart's the new CHAOS foe referred to Siegfried as his father who he did not spend much time with - especially when he went undercover on the cruise ship for several years.......

I will check out the interview after work today.

We met "the Doc" onboard the Island Princess in 1978 while an episode of the TV show was being filmed.

    Dated is an understatment.

Take a look at the size of the ship... all 20,000 grts of it.

Here are a few pictures from an episode in the 2nd season.

I have the first DVD. Pretty hysterical. I hope they issue (if they haven't already) a DVD with the episode featuring Grant Goodeve. A guy who worked as a temp secretary for us for many months was one of the happy, smiley faces on that episode. His name is Russell Scott, just in case any one has found that show.
