The other vote was me!!
Fortunately no. On one cruise, someone at our table apparently had some tummy disorder so it could have been noro, or maybe something else.
With us, it's more allergies that get us. I pack a ton of allergy meds and Sudafed and even my hubby who isn't as bad as us, needs a nasal congestion med at some point. Both times in Puerta Vallerta made me very sick from the trash burning they did on the days we were in port.

My DH did .... but, while VERY exposed, I didn't.
Forturnaltely, this happed toward the end of a 14 night cruise.
Unfortunately, our toilet didn't flush properly. I actually needed to be "right there" with him the entire time ... and, yes, I did get his body fluids on me.He was in no condition to try to keep that
toilet half- flushed and hold a plastic bag/trash can at the same time ....
The worst part was the first three hours. Then, it was on and off for another several hours.
After that ... just extremely tired and couldn't eat/wasn't hungry for another 36 or so hours. Water would not stay down; but, Coke type drinks did better.
Still, I wonder WHY I never got it????![]()

I have had Noro. It is not a very pleasant experience. I believe that most people get some type of a stomach virus and call it Noro. The big difference is that when you have Noro, it has to be reported to the CDC.
Easytraveler .... Thanks for your reply. Remember to click the little box that says you've had it.

I had norovirus on the Sea Princess back in Feb '99, before it was widely talked about. I had no idea what it was at the time, but I do now.
As a previous poster stated, the worst part was the first 3-6 hours. It hit me at 3:00 A.M., and I had to call housekeeping to come change the bed linens. Very embarrisingFrom that point forward, for the next 4 hours, I never left the bathroom. The next day, I never left the cabin, had no desire to eat and slept most of the day. The second day, I felt a little better and started sipping ginger ale. Almost 48 hours after the first symptoms appeared, I was starving and ordering room service.
In hindsight, if I had an I.V. to replenish fluids (couldn't drink anything and keep it down), I probably would have felt better faster. If I should ever get it again on a cruise, I would not hesitate to go to the infirmary. Between anti-nausea drugs and I.V. fluids, the symptoms would be greatly diminished.
