Interesting bit that the bugs don't like hands that have been treated with Gel. I would never actually tell people in general that the gel doesn't kill the virus 'cos everything must help to a degree.

The sentence that stood out for me in the article:

Cruise ships are not the only place where you can pick up this nasty bug!

It's amazing that the media will harp on any outbreaks happening on a ship, but usually won't mention that many of those passengers probably had picked it up on their flight or otherwise before they boarded the ship.

I have read those that use sanitizers catch more things, and they kill the GOOD bacteria that you WANT to have on your hands. Kind a like killing white blood cells.

That's like the story in the paper and the headline said something like, "Cruise Passenger Gets Swine Flu". Leads one to believe that the person got the swine flu while on a cruise. Most people only read the headline, but if they would have read the story, the lady went on a cruise and then spent a few days sightseeing in San Diego. There was an outbreak of Swine Flu in San Diego and that's where she got it. The fact she was on a cruise was totally irrelevant and had nothing to do with the story - it should never have been placed in the headline. But the damage was done and people were treated to irresponsible reporting causing many to get overly concerned for no reason and several canceled their cruise.
